PM Internship Scheme 2024: The number of internship opportunities posted on the dedicated portal for the PM Internship Scheme surged to nearly 50,000 as of Wednesday, marking a threefold increase from the 16,000 available just two days earlier, sources in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) told ABP LIVE. Companies began posting opportunities on the portal on October 3, 2024.

Over 130 companies, including top private sector giants like Jubilant Foodworks, Eicher Motors, Larsen & Toubro, Tech Mahindra, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, and Muthoot Finance, are offering internships. These opportunities span 22 diverse sectors, with the Oil, Gas & Energy sector leading, followed closely by Travel & Hospitality. Additional sectors include Automotives, Banking and Financial Services, Infrastructure & Construction, and Aviation & Defence.

Internships cover over 20 different fields, such as Operations Management, Production & Manufacturing, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing, and more. The scope is nationwide, with internships available across 650 districts in 36 states and union territories, ensuring that students from every corner of the country can access opportunities.

With such a vast array of internships, students are set to gain hands-on experience in various industries, making it a prime opportunity for those looking to kickstart their careers.

Notably, Under the PM Internship Scheme, selected youths for internships will receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed this scheme in her budget speech. Under the scheme, youths will get the opportunity to intern with India's top 500 companies.

PM Internship Scheme Details:

• 12 months real-life experience in India’s top companies.
• Monthly assistance of Rs 4500 by the Government of India and Rs 500 by Industry.
• One-time Grant of Rs 6000 for incidentals.
• Insurance coverage for every intern under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana by the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age: 21-24 years.
• Education: Not enrolled full-time.
• Job Status: Not employed full-time.
• Family (Self/Spouse/Parents): No member is earning more than Rs 8 Lakhs per annum.

How To Apply For Internship?

Candidates will be able to apply online through the online portal at pminternship.mca.gov.in. From October 12 to 25, candidates can register with minimum data in the portal.
