New Delhi: The walls of Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU were found covered with offensive casteist and communal slogans today, July 20, 2024, as reported by Congress student body. Slogans like "Dalit Bharat Chhodo" and "Brahman Baniya Zindabad" along with "RSS Zindabad" were written on the walls of the Kaveri hostel, according to NSUI unit general secretary Kunal Kumar, who shared photos of the graffiti on social media. Kunal Kumar also claimed that the authorities quickly painted over the graffiti after the photos went viral on social media. In a statement, the group 'Humans of JNU' expressed deep concern over the incident. They condemned the slogans as being representative of brahmanical and manuvadi ideologies, which they attributed to the RSS.

According to news agency PTI, Dean Manuradha Chaudhary did not respond to the allegations. Kaveri Hostel warden Manish Kumar Barnwal also declined to comment.

The group Humans of JNU expressed their concern over the recent incidents at Kaveri Hostel. They even highlighted that casteist slurs against the Dalit Bahujan community, along with slogans like "Brahman Baniya Zindabad" and "RSS Zindabad," were written on the walls. They argued that these slogans clearly show the brahmanical and manuvadi influence of the RSS and its supporters within the university.

Last year, the JNU formed a panel to investigate the repeated incidents of anti-national slogans scribbled on campus. The committee was set up after pictures of slogans like 'Indian-Occupied Kashmir', 'Free Kashmir' and 'Bhagwa Jalega' scribbled on the School of Languages building wall went viral on social media.
