The Indian Navy had earlier this month released three advertisements notifying 2500 vacancies for the post of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and 500 for Artificer Apprentice (AA).

Indian Navy Recruitment 2018: Recruitment for 3400 Sailor posts has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The Indian Navy had earlier this month released three advertisements notifying 2500 vacancies for the post of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and 500 for Artificer Apprentice (AA) for course commencing August 2019 and 400 posts for Matric Recruit (MR) for course commencing in October 2019. The application process for the same was scheduled to begin today i.e. 14th December 2018; however, upon visiting the official website, the following notification can be read, ‘Online application dates for SSR, MR Aug 2019 and AA 146 batches, has been postponed due to administrative reasons. Firm dates will be published on this website & newspapers. Inconvenience caused is regretted.’ Unmarried male candidates aspiring to join the Indian Navy must keep a close watch on the official website of the defense wing – joinindiannavy.gov.in to know the online applications scheduled for the aforementioned posts. Meanwhile, candidates can read below the eligibility criteria for the posts of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), Artificer Apprentice (AA) and Matric Recruit (MR) to ascertain their eligibility and know the selection process below: Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) – The applicant must have passed Class 12th with subjects of Mathematics & Physics and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science from an education board recognized by MHRD, Government of India. Artificer Apprentice (AA) – The applicant must have passed Class 12th with minimum 60% or more marks in aggregate with Mathematics & Physics and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science from an education board recognized by MHRD, Government of India. Matric Recruit (MR) – The applicant must have passed matriculation examination from an education board recognized by MHRD, Government of India. Selection Process: The selection of candidates is done on the basis of a merit list prepared from their performance in Computer-based examination, subject to qualifying the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examinations.
