Delhi EWS Admissions 2019: First Computerized Draw Today, Stay Tuned

It is notable here that 22% seats in Delhi Schools are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families who have annual income less than one lac rupees and for the Disadvantaged Group (DG) under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Delhi EWS Admissions 2019: The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi NCT is scheduled to release the first computerized draw of lots for EWS/DG Admissions 2019-20 today i.e. Wednesday, 27th February 2019. The result will be uploaded on the official website of DoE, New Delhi – edudel.nic.in. “The date of first computerized draw of lots for EWS/DG category applicants is 27.02.2019 (Wednesday)”, read an important notification released by the Delhi Education department. Parents who had submitted applications for their wards for Nursery Admission 2019-20 under the EWS/DG category must keep a close tab on the aforementioned website to check the result once its declared by the DoE. It is notable here that 22% seats in Delhi Schools are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families who have annual income less than one lac rupees and for the Disadvantaged Group (DG) under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. 3% seats are reserved for Children with Disabilities Category for the year academic year 2019-20. The last date to submit admission application for CWSN/Children with Disability is 2nd March 2019, and the first computerized draw of lots for the same will be out on 7th March 2019. The Delhi Nursery Admissions 2019-20 process is already underway for the General Category candidates, since December 2018. The Education Department had released the first list of Nursery Admissions 2019-20 on 4th February 2019, followed by second list on 21st February 2019, last week. On the other hand, the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi rolled out online admissions process for Classes II to IX on 19th February 2019, earlier this month for the EWS/DG category candidates. The DoE catapulted the EWS admission for Class II and upwards Centrally for the first time. Earlier these admissions were controlled by the private schools themselves.
