CBSE Board Exams Success: Revise, Pause, Repeat Should be Your Mantra

CBSE Board Exam 2019: Pause or tiny breaks in between your Revision plan are important to let your brain assimilate the information you’ve gathered in the past hour or two. This pause has to be a complete shut-down for your brain and could be of as less as 5 minutes to 15 minutes span.

New Delhi: CBSE Board Exams for theory subjects will officially begin in less than two weeks’ time. With over a lac students amplifying their last minute efforts by revising the chapters already covered, there’s one thing every student needs through the day – Pause! Pause or tiny breaks in between your Revision plan are important to let your brain assimilate the information you’ve gathered in the past hour or two. This pause has to be a complete shut-down for your brain and could be of as less as 5 minutes to 15 minutes span. Many students opt for listening to music or reading the newspaper in their breaks; however, as per scientists, your brain is still engaged into something. This continuous supply of information fogs your brain and doesn’t let it consolidate fully what you’ve learnt or you’ve tried to memorize in the past few hours. Thereby, just after you’ve finished reading, learning or revising an important topic, and you feel like taking a break, pause yourself by taking a catnap for 5 to 15 minutes and you’ll facilitate your brain to synapse the information in a much better way, than opting for other ways to relax yourself. As per Loren Frank, Professor at the Center for Integrative Neuroscience, University of California, San Francisco, “To learn something well, you need to study it for a while and then take a break.” Professor Frank explains that “the brain can get into its downtime state very quickly, and the education research suggests just a few minutes — five to fifteen — are enough to aid learning.” Thereby, for your CBSE Board Examinations success, say good bye to distractions or other means of relaxation for a few weeks, and rather literally Pause yourself when you go on a Break in between your Revision plan. Happy Learning!
