'Prove Chandrashekhar's Claims Wrong': BJP Dares CM Arvind Kejriwal To Undergo Lie Detector Test

Shehzad Poonawala attacked Kejriwal during a news conference by bringing up the alleged frauds and claiming that the national capital had been filming the Lootera movie for the past eight years.

The BJP on Sunday renewed its attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the Delhi excise policy problem and demanded that he take a lie detector test to demonstrate his "honesty" as requested by imprisoned conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, news agency PTI reported.

Shehzad Poonawala, the national spokesman for the BJP, attacked Kejriwal during a news conference by bringing up the alleged frauds and claiming that the national capital had been filming the Lootera movie for the past eight years.

The BJP further released a graphic on Twitter that portrayed Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as "Lootera," alluding to the 2013 Ranveer Singh film of the same name.

Poonawala's comments came a day after Kejriwal suggested that Chandrashekhar be become the national head of the BJP since he spoke the same language as the group.

"It's a good chance for Kejriwal to undergo a lie detector test along with his ministers Satyendar Jain and Kailash Gahlot in a live telecast and prove Chandrashekhar's claims wrong," he was quoted by PTI in its report.

In letters to the LG, Chandrashekhar has accused several AAP leaders of extortion and stated that he was willing to take a lie detector test alongside Kejriwal and his ministers.

Poonawala claimed that Kejriwal could take a lie detector test to demonstrate his sincerity, but he would not.

He could have asked the court to throw out the FIR in the "liquor scam," but he chose not to, he said.

He asserted that Manish Sisodia, an accused party in the liquor scam case, is a cast member of the Kejriwal-directed film Lootera, and that the excise policy 2021–22 that was later abandoned by the Kejriwal administration cost the state exchequer Rs 1800 crore.

"The AAP has never cared to answer the BJP's questions on corruption in the policy that during its 7.5 months operation led to loss of Rs 1800 crore to the government," he said.

He continued that Kejriwal had neglected to explain to the public why he had rescinded the Excise Policy 2021–22.

The CBI and Enforcement Directorate are currently looking into the alleged irregularities in the policy.

Kejriwal had said on Saturday, "This policy was supposed to be extended from July 31. All officers were threatened to not grant extension. We were forced to take it back. The same policy has been implemented in Punjab where there has been a 48 per cent increase in revenue".

Kejriwal had asserted that 800 CBI and ED officers have been working for the past few months to arrest his deputy Sisodia, who is being investigated by the investigating agencies in relation to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise policy.

"They didn't find accounted cash anywhere. They even raided his village thinking that he might have bought some land there but did not find anything. They have conducted 500 raids. Please educate me on what scam happened," he had said.
