Man, With 1 Mn Bounty On Head, Arrested In Delhi For Killing Australian Woman

Rajwinder Singh, 38, allegedly killed Toyah Cordingley, 24, at a beach before returning to India.

Delhi police special cell on Friday arrested an Indian nurse Rajwinder Singh, who is accused of killing an Australian woman Toyah Cordingley in Queensland in 2018.

Rajwinder Singh, 38, allegedly killed Toyah Cordingley, 24, at a beach before returning to India. Cordingley was a worker at a pharmacy. She was walking her dog at Queensland's Wangetti Beach when she was killed. Singh fled Australia two days after the incident and left his job, wife, and children behind.

The accused was apprehended in a joint operation run with CBI, Interpol and a special cell with the help of intelligence inputs. The Queensland Police had kept a reward of 1 million Australian dollars for any information leading to his arrest. This is the largest ever amount offered by the department.

The Australian government had requested India to extradite Singh in March 2021 which was approved in November this year. Singh lived in Innisfail Town. He worked as a nursing assistant but he originally hails from Buttar Kalan, Punjab.
