'Kejriwal's Insulin Supply Stopped In Jail': Mann Jabs BJP Over Delhi CM's Health, Says 'Dictatorship Should Have A Limit'

Bhagwant Mann accused the BJP of “dictatorship”, alleging the Tihar jail administration has denied Arvind Kejriwal access to insulin.

New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again launched a scathing attack on the BJP, raising concerns about the health of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Mann accused the BJP of “dictatorship”, alleging the Tihar jail administration has denied his Delhi counterpart access to insulin.

Taking to X, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, "Even in custody, the insulin supply for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been halted."

Emphasising that Kejriwal is a patient of type 2 diabetes, Mann wrote, “Dictatorship also has a limit...now Arvind ji's insulin supply has been stopped in custody...Arvind ji has been a diabetic patient for 30 years and he has to take 54 units of insulin daily...the jail administration is not allowing him to take insulin...at present Arvind ji's sugar level has reached 300... It's a matter of concern.”

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Minister Atishi also levelled similar allegations against the BJP, claiming that efforts were underway to make Kejriwal’s health deteriorate. Addressing a press conference, Atishi said the BJP was “conspiring to kill” Kejriwal and he was not being allowed to take insulin “despite repeated requests”.

Atishi claimed that the jail authorities were trying to prevent Kejriwal from consuming home-cooked meals, despite the necessity of his insulin regimen. She reiterated that Kejriwal's medical needs were genuine, as validated by the court's permission to administer prescribed food due to his severe diabetic condition.

Atishi further accused the ED of misrepresentation in court, alleging that false claims were made about Kejriwal's dietary habits, including allegations of consuming sweetened tea and sweets.

These came hours after the Enforcement Directorate told a Delhi court that Kejriwal intentionally consumed mangoes, sweets, and sugared tea to elevate his blood sugar levels, as a tactic to secure bail on medical grounds.

In response to these developments, the Delhi court instructed Tihar Jail authorities to furnish details regarding the dietary regimen of the Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor.
