Delhi Sees Slight Rise In Temperature At 7.4 Deg C. AQI Remains 'Very Poor'

Delhi witnessed a slightly warmer morning on Wednesday and there was no respite for the residents as the air quality remained in the 'very poor' category in the city. 

The residents of the national capital woke up to a slightly warmer morning on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the struggle of city residents with the air quality continued on Wednesday as the air quality in the city was recorded in the "very poor" category. The minimum temperature recorded in the city today was higher than that recorded on Tuesday.

According to the meteorological department, the humidity level stood at 100 per cent at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI.

The minimum temperature settled at 7.4 degrees Celsius, just a notch below the usual average. On Tuesday, it was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius and on Monday at 6.5 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 377, up from 333, on Tuesday.

As far as the weather conditions in the city are concerned, the national capital has been witnessing below-normal temperatures for the last couple of days. As per the weather office, the minimum temperature is likely to stay on the lower side for the next two days.

Meanwhile, the air quality remained in the 'very poor’ category, with the AQI at 377 in the morning, as per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data. On Tuesday, the AQI was recorded at 333.

As per the CPCB, the AQI at IGI Airport (T3) was recorded at 355, in the New Moti Bagh area at 368, in Punjabi Bagh at 397, ITO 400, in the Anand Vihar area at 415, Ashok Vihar area at 412, and in Narela at 408, in Narela at 408 at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

In the visuals shared by news agency ANI, different parts of the city can be seen shrouded in haze.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', 401 and 450 'severe' and above 450 'severe-plus'.
