Delhi Traffic Advisory: Shantivan To Geeta Colony Among Routes Opened As Yamuna Water Recedes

The movement of traffic which was closed due to the flood situation has been opened on various routes.

As the Yamuna water level recedes in the national capital, various routes have been opened for commuters. According to the Delhi Traffic Police, the Road from Shantivan to Geeta colony both carriageways have been opened only for Cars, autos, and light vehicles. However, the road from Shanti Van to Rajghat and towards ISBT is still closed. The movement of traffic, which was closed due to the flood situation has been opened on Boulevard Road to slip road, below Yudhisthir Setu and Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Both carriageways from Chandgiram Akhara to IP College have also been opened.

"Traffic Alert. The Road from Shantivan to Geeta colony  both carriageways has been opened only  for Cars, Auto's and light vehicles. The road from Shanti Van to Rajghat and towards ISBT is still closed. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly," Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.

The movement of traffic which was closed due to the flood situation has been opened on roads Boulevard Road to slip road, below Yudhisthir Setu and Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Both carriageways from Chandgiram Akhara to IP college have also been opened.

"Traffic movement which was closed due to flood has been opened on the following roads:- 1. Boulevard Road to slip road, below Yudhisthir setu turn left to MGM to wazirabad flyover and further.. 2. Mahatma Gandhi marg  both carriageways from Chandgiram Akhara to IP college. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly," Delhi Traffic Police said in another tweet.

Meanwhile, the Indraprastha embankment on the Yamuna River in Delhi was sealed after a 20-hour repair operation by workers, and Army personnel. One of the jammed gates of the ITO barrage was also opened on Saturday during the operation. The remaining four gates are expected to be opened soon.

The national capital remains submerged as the Yamuna continues to flow above the danger mark. The water level of Yamuna at 7 am today was recorded at 207.62 metres.

Delhi LG VK Saxena and CM Arvind Kejriwal thanked all those involved in the repair operation.
