Delhi's Amrita School Gets Bomb Threat Via E-mail, Police Say Nothing Suspicious Found

Another Delhi school receives a bomb threat via an e-mail. A Delhi police team has reached the spot to probe the case.

Delhi's Amrita School in Pushp Vihar, Saket received a bomb threat via e-mail early Tuesday morning. After the threat, Delhi police and other teams reached the spot and are carrying out the investigation, ANI said citing police. This is the third such incident in the national capital since April 12. Earlier, Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar and Delhi Public School on Mathura Road received similar threats on April 12 and April 26 respectively. Both threats were later found to be a hoax. 

According to the latest information, an email was received on Tuesday morning at 6.33 am at Amrita School, Saket regarding a bomb threat.

Chandan Chowdhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi said, "The school has been thoroughly checked through BDT (Bomb Disposal Team) and nothing has been found."

Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar was vacated after an e-mail containing a bomb threat was received following which the Delhi Police informed the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. The school authorities asked parents to take their ward home amid the commotion. As per ABP News sources, an e-mail was received by the school after which a person named Brajesh from the school administration called up the police to inform. 

The bomb squad was conducting checks inside the school premises and a Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) reached the school. "Bomb and dog squads have gone inside the school," a guardian of a student of the school was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Chandan Choudhary said that the threat was "most likely a hoax". 

Suresh Yadav, Sub-Inspector, Bomb Squad, Delhi Police said, "The school has been thoroughly checked and no suspected thing has been found."

In a similar case, the Delhi Public School, Mathura Road in the national capital received a bomb threat via e-mail, the Delhi Fire Service said on April 12, adding investigation was underway, reported ANI. Following a probe, Delhi Commissioner of Police South East, Rajesh Deo said that no suspicious object was found on the premises. "The situation is normal. Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog squad and SWAT team sanitising the school buildings," he said, reported the news agency. 

Following a Special Cell's investigation into the bomb threat case at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road it was revealed that a 16-year-old student of the same school sent the threatening email as a prank. During the counseling of the student, he said that a few days back similar kind of email was sent to another school in Delhi. The student said that he played this prank on the school administration based on the previous case.
