'Sponsored Flood': AAP Launches Sharp Attack On Haryana's BJP Govt Over Delhi Waterlogging
The AAP has accused the Haryana government of releasing a huge volume of water from Hathinikund Barrage in one go, resulting in the flood in Delhi.
The AAP on Friday hit out at the Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government, accusing it of "manufacturing" the Delhi floods. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said the Haryana government did not release any water for five days from July 9 and then "diverted all water towards Delhi".
"It has not rained in Delhi for 3 days, then what is the reason for the flood? The reason for this is the deep conspiracy hatched by the BJP. The hatred hidden in Modi ji's mind comes out in such incidents. CM Kejriwal extends support to any state facing a crisis. But today Delhi is witnessing floods without rain. I say with full responsibility that this flood is sponsored," he remarked addressing a presser.

He said water from Hathinikund Barrage goes to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi and according to him, from July 9 onward all the water was released towards Delhi. "Had this water been released evenly, there would have been no flood situation in Delhi today. Why is BJP doing this? Delhi has seven BJP MPs. It would have been better if they appealed to Haryana that all the water should not be released towards Delhi," the AAP leader added, citing a 'log sheet'.
Sanjay Singh further attacked PM Modi for embarking on his France visit amid flooding in states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. He stressed, "CM Arvind Kejriwal is on the field with his ministers and reviewing flooded areas. Our ministers and MLAs are working day and night to contain this situation. Have you seen any pictures of UP and Haryana CM working for people?"
He alleged that PM Modi tasked BJP leaders with "targeting" AAP amid the flooding situation.
"How much water was released in the Western-Eastern Canal on the 9th?" Singh asked and sought for the "logsheet" record to be verified.
AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar accused the Modi government of being "vindictive" and said it ensured that all water from the Hathinikund Barrage was released toward the national capital leading to a "manufactured and man-made flood".

Videos show that entire water from Hathini Kund was diverted towards Delhi between 9th & 13th July.
Why was this allowed?
Questions must be asked.

"The Chief secretaries of the states should have come together and evolved a plan because the gates at these barrages are easily manipulated," she said calling for accountability to be fixed.
Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday responded to the allegation saying, "Blaming others for Delhi's condition is wrong and this is not the time for politics."

"Kejriwal wrote to Amit Shah and requested him to interfere and reduce the amount of water that is being released from the Hathnikund barrage. If this was written with the intention of politics and to hide his own failure, then it is very unfortunate," he added, stressing that there is no reservoir in a barrage to hold water.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a letter to Union Home Minister had requested that the water from the Hathnikund barrage in Haryana be released at limited speed as he pointed out that the national capital is set to host the G20 Summit meeting in a few weeks.

Visuals of flooding in the national capital made headlined as water gushed into houses, crematoriums, and shelter homes, impairing daily life, even as Yamuna's water level stabilised after reaching 208.62 metres on Thursday, smashing the all-time record set 45 years ago by a significant margin.
Water levels in the Yamuna in Delhi came down to 208.25 metres at 3 pm on Friday even as several key areas in the city were inundated.
