3 Including Woman Shot Dead After Birthday Party Outside Hotel In Panchkula

Three men arrived at the scene in an Etios car, opened fire indiscriminately on the victims and fled the scene.

Three people including, a woman were shot dead by unknown assailants in the parking lot of a hotel in Haryana's Panchkula on Sunday night.

According to IANS, the three left the hotel after celebrating a birthday when miscreants fired multiple shots at their SUV. After receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and the victims were brought to the Civil Hospital of Sector 6 in Panchkula, near the state capital Chandigarh, where they were declared dead.

The deceased have been identified as Vicky and Vipin, both from Delhi, and Nia from Hisar, a Station House Officer, Pinjore, Inspector Sombir told PTI. All the victims were reported to be residents of Delhi.

"The three had come to attend a birthday party when the incident took place," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Panchkula, Arvind Kamboj told the news agency.

According to the police, three men arrived at the scene in an Etios car, opened fire indiscriminately on the victims and fled from the crime scene. The police control room received information about the crime around 3:30 am.

One of the victims, Vicky, 30, had a criminal background and was involved in some cases. He along with his nephew and a woman, was there for the birthday celebrations, according to the news agency.

SHO Kamboj told PTI, that they were scanning CCTV footage to gather more clues.

The motive behind the murder was not immediately clear. However, the police have not yet ruled out old enmity.
