Karnataka Teacher Kills Class 4 Student By Throwing Him Off School Building, Beats Up Mother: Police

Muttu Hadali had also assaulted Bharat's mother, Gita Barker, a teacher at the school. She is being treated at a nearby hospital.

A class 4 student died today in Karnataka after being beaten and shoved from the first-floor balcony of a government-run school by his teacher. According to the authorities, Muttu Hadali, a teacher at government-run school in Hagli village in the state's northernmost region, beat the youngster with a shovel. Bharat was a fourth-grade student.

Speaking with reporters, a senior police officer of Gadak district, Shivprakash Devaraju stated: "The reason is not clear now...prima facie it looks like some family issues among them," NDTV reported.

Muttu Hadali had also assaulted Bharat's mother, Geetha Barakeri, a teacher at the school. She is being treated at a nearby hospital, news agency IANS reported.

The man, a guest faculty, is presently missing.

Last week, a similar occurrence was reported at a Delhi school. The instructor, in a fit of fury, had assaulted a pupil of Class 5 with scissors and hurled her from the first story of a government school building.

The attack occurred during the craft class.

According to authorities, the teacher allegedly locked herself inside a classroom with pupils and "violently" flung water bottles before picking up the girl, cutting her hair, and throwing her out the balcony.

Another instructor attempted but failed to stop Geeta Deshwal from tossing down the pupil.

Doctors said the infant, who was promptly rushed to the hospital, is stable. She has shattered her cheekbone and is unable to eat or drink. In the fall, she also hurt her head and leg.

The school in question is managed by the civic body of Delhi. The instructor has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

The accused has been booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

"The student has been admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital. All necessary tests including CT scan has been done. The child is safe and stable and responding well. The teacher has been detained by police. The MCD has also suspended her with immediate effect. Further investigation is being conducted by the department," a senior MCD official told PTI.
