Gangster Raju Thet Shot Dead In Rajasthan's Sikar, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility

The incident is the result of Raju Thet's gang rivalry with the Anandpal gang and Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Gangster Raju Thet, on Saturday, was shot dead outside his house in a shootout in Rajasthan's Sikri. According to reports, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken responsibility for this attack. A video of the incident is also being circulated on social media.

Rohit Godara of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post.

The Rajasthan Police have identified some accused involved in the Sikar shootout, reported ANI. Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra informed the news agency that the police teams are after the accused and it is suspected that the accused are headed towards the Haryana border.

"Revelations will be made when they're nabbed. This is basically a result of a gang war," he added.

An organisation Veer Taj Sena and supporters of Raju Thet have now announced a shutdown in Sikar, Rajasthan following the shootout that happened here earlier in the day. Raju Thet, a criminal as per police, died in the shootout after sustaining bullet injuries. 

The supporters said that they would not accept the body or allow a postmortem until the accused are arrested, reported ANI. 

Two people, including Thet have died in the firing incident. 

A man named Tarachand Jaat also succumbed to bullet injuries in the shootout incident that happened in Sikar, Rajasthan on Saturday. According to ANI, the man had come to meet his daughter who is residing in a hostel near the crime spot.  

Earlier, Rajasthan police informed that a man, identified as Raju Thet, died in the Sikar shootout. The police said that Thet has been involved in crime for a long time, reported ANI. 

Sikar SP said that the man sustained bullet injuries and later died. He added that as per the footage available, four people have been found to be involved in the firing incident. 

“A man called Raju Thet, who has been involved in crime for a long time, sustained bullet injuries. As per the latest info available to me, he died. As per our info & available footage, 4 people were involved in the firing,” Kunwar Rastradeep, Sikar SP said, as per ANI. 

Reacting to the incident, Rajasthan leader of Opposition GC Kataria said, "Raju Thet was killed by another gang today. We suppressed gang wars during our Govt & it had almost ended. But they rose again once this Govt came. Following laws and taking action against the culprits is every Govt's responsibility."

Earlier in the day, speaking to ANI over the incident, Rajasthan Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, “1 person has been killed in the shootout. A thorough probe will be done and all the culprits will be brought to justice. Similar 2-3 incidents took place in Jaipur recently and all the criminals involved were arrested.” 

He added, “I appeal to people not to indulge in any criminal activities. There has been a sharp spike in the gang wars, Rajasthan govt will take all possible steps and put these gangsters behind the bars.”
