Shraddha-Like Murder In Delhi: Woman Chops Husband's Body, Stores Pieces In Fridge To Dispose Later

The mother-son duo chopped off the body in several pieces and kept it in the refrigerator. The residence of the accused where the incident of murder took place is in Delhi's Trilokpuri area.

New Delhi: A woman along with her son was arrested by Crime Branch in Delhi's Pandav Nagar for murdering her husband.  Both of them chopped off the body in several pieces and kept it in the refrigerator, as reported by the news agency ANI.

According to the Delhi Police Crime Branch, they used to dispose of the body parts in the nearby ground. The CCTV videos showing them near the ground have been shared by the news agency. 

The residence of the accused where the murder took place is in Delhi's Trilokpuri area, as reported by ANI. 

The Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police's Crime Branch, Amit Goel, said that some body parts of the deceased were recovered on June 5 in Ramlila maidan, East district. He informed that the case was filed after two legs, two thighs, a skull, and a forearm were recovered. “On June 5 some body parts were recovered in Ramlila maidan, East district. Then for the next 3 days two legs, two thighs, a skull, and a forearm were recovered and then the case was filed, “ ANI quoted Goel as saying.

Goel said that the deceased had been identified as Anjan Das who had been missing for the last five to six months. He further mentioned that no missing complaint was filed by the family members. Poonam, one of the accused in the case, married Das in 2017 after the death of her husband Kallu in 2016. Kallu was accused Deepak's father.

“It was found that the suspected deceased was missing for the last 5-6 months and there was no missing complaint filed by the family members. Lady Poonam and son Deepak were seen in CCTV footage, they were questioned and they confessed that they murdered him,” ANI quoted Goel as saying.

He also said, “efforts were made to identify the body. It seemed like a gruesome murder. Footages were analysed, door-to-door verification was done and the body was identified. It was found that the deceased is suspected, Anjan Das”.

“The lady Poonam married Anjan Das in 2017 after her husband Kallu passed away in 2016. Kallu was Deepak's father. The deceased Anjan was married in Bihar too and had 8 children there. He wasn't earning and often use to fight,” he added.

According to Ravinder Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police - Crime, "Situation in Anjan's family worsened after Deepak got married and deceased use to have ill intentions towards his wife and one of Deepak's sisters who used to live with them. They were also concerned Anjan used to take all their earnings but wasn't earning himself".

Speaking further on the matter, the DCP said that on May 30, the mother-son duo had mixed sleeping pills in liquor and made him drink. After that, they slit his throat and left the body in the home for a day. He said the duo chopped the body in ten pieces out of which six have been recovered.  

“On May 30, the mother-son made deceased Anjan drink liquor and mixed sleeping pills in it. Then they slit his throat and left the body in the home for a day for the blood to drain out completely. Then they chopped off the body in 10 pieces, 6 pieces recovered,” Goel was quoted by ANI as saying.

"Mother Poonam and son Deepak dumped the body pieces of Anjan Das in isolated areas like behind the Ramlila Maidan, and New Ashok Nagar drain. They also buried the skull," Ravinder Yadav said, as quoted by ANI.
