"During the investigation, the police found that the duo met at the victim’s spa centre in Surat and then moved to Delhi where they began living together," PTI quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh as saying.
"Vipul paid Rs 7 lakh to the woman for the purchase of a flat in Delhi. However, she later pressured him for more money to pay the instalments and to marry her. Following this, he allegedly killed her", DCP said, as per PTI.
The police chased Tailor in three states -- Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, covering nearly 1,400 kilometres in five days to nab him in Udaipur.
Father Approached The Police
On April 4th, the father of the victim approached the police when he failed to establish contact with his daughter. Expressing deep concern, he harbored suspicions that Vipul Tailor, with whom his daughter had been living for the past one-and-a-half months could have killed her in their house in Dwarka's Rajapuri area.,in their house located in Dwarka's Rajapuri area,

"When our team entered the flat, Rukhsar alias Riya, was found in a sitting position inside a large wardrobe with sliding doors. Superficial wounds and strangulation marks were evident on her body, suggesting resistance. Household items were strewn across all three rooms, indicating a struggle. Inquiry revealed that the deceased had been cohabiting with her friend Vipul", the DCP said.
The police investigation looked into CCTV footage, revealing Tailor's departure from the premises around 9 pm in his car, crossing the Sohna-Mumbai expressway toll plaza.
A police team was dispatched to pursue Vipul's car, tracing his movements from Delhi to Udaipur. Despite Tailor's efforts to evade capture by altering routes, the pursuit persisted relentlessly for 48 hours until an accident ensued, causing Tailor to sustain injuries, as revealed by Singh. Subsequently, Tailor was transported by ambulance to Bhilwara.
However, instead of seeking medical treatment, he purportedly boarded another private ambulance destined for Surat, prompting the police team to continue their pursuit. Ultimately, Tailor was apprehended in an injured condition, marking the culmination of the intense pursuit efforts, as stated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
