Yoga Teacher Feigns Death With Breathing Technique, Buried Alive By Her Kidnappers

Once she was sure that the abductors had left, she climbed out of the pit and quickly reached a police station to register a complaint.

A yoga teacher’s expertise in breathing techniques helped fool her four hired killers into thinking she was dead, she was then buried alive. The incident occurred in a forested area in the Chikkaballapur district of Bengaluru in Karnataka on October 23, according to The Times Of India.

Archana, the woman used breath control and pretended to be dead, which made her abductors think that their job was done, and they dug a shallow pit to dump her body, covered her with mud and branches, stole her valuables and fled the scene, according to an Indian Today report.

Once she was sure that the abductors had left, she climbed out of the pit and quickly reached a police station to register a complaint.

As per an India Today report, the Chikkaballapur district police, said she was targeted due to an alleged affair with Santosh, who is a friend of her husband. Santosh’s wife Bindu, suspected that he and Archana were seeing each other, Bindu hired Satheesh Reddy, a man with a criminal record, to attack the yoga teacher.

Satheesh Reddy pretended to want to learn yoga, but after gaining her trust he planned her abduction. Three other assailants joined Reddy, they assaulted her in the car while driving to the forest.

As per India Today, Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police, DL Nagesh, said, "On October 24, we received a complaint from Archana about kidnap, assault, and an attempt on her life. Bindu had allegedly hired Satheesh Reddy, who posed as a detective. All accused have been arrested.”

The police arrested Satheesh Reddy and Bindu, Nagendra Reddy, Ramana Reddy and Ravi, as per India Today. They also recovered the victim’s cash and jewellery. Satish, Ramana, and Nagendra are from Andhra Pradesh, while Ravi is from the Raichur district. The accused were arrested from different locations in Karnataka.
