The son of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) state Vice-President Javed Sheikh has been arrested for allegedly ramming his car while he was drunk. The accused, Raheel Sheikh, was allegedly semi-naked when he abused social media influencer Rajshree More.

Raheel Sheikh was caught on camera boasting of his political connections.  The video, which surfaced on Monday, triggered widespread outrage.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam, who supported the influencer, said, "A youth misbehaved with Rajshree More. He was drunk and semi-naked, and he constantly abused her verbally and threatened her by using MNS's name...A case was registered, and today, we have come here so that she can get justice. The Marathi language and its speakers must be respected. However, those who use the Marathi language for their political gains, we request that they refrain from disrespecting, verbally abusing, or threatening anyone..."

An FIR was filed at the Amboli Police Station against Raheel Sheikh on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and negligent driving. He has since been arrested.

Who Is Rajshree More?

The social media influencer was often seen with actress Rakhi Sawant and her former husband, Adil Durani. However, More and Sawant broke their relationship during the latter's divorce controversy.

More, with over 31,000 followers on Instagram, is a beauty influencer and entrepreneur who has a nail art studio in Lokhandwala. She often posts videos with Bollywood celebrities.

More recently posted a video questioning the push to enforce Marathi language in Maharashtra. She argued that instead of imposing the language, local Marathi residents should focus on working harder. She also suggested that Mumbai’s development would suffer if migrant workers left the city.

The controversy comes amid rising tensions over language and identity politics in the state, with MNS supporters recently accused of assaulting non-Marathi-speaking individuals as part of the party's campaign against the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra.
