‘Security Withdrawn For Exposing Police Corruption’: Sanjeev Balyan Writes To CM Yogi

BJP leader Sanjeev Balyan has written to UP CM Yogi Adityanath claiming that his security has been withdrawn due to his attempts to fight against corruption involving the Muzaffarnagar police.

Lucknow News: BJP leader and former Union Minister of State Sanjeev Balyan has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, raising serious concerns about the Muzaffarnagar police’s alleged corruption and the withdrawal of his security.

In his letter, Balyan claimed that his security had been removed as a consequence of his efforts to expose corruption within the local police. “Due to my raising my voice against the corruption of the Muzaffarnagar police, my entire security has been withdrawn,” he stated in the letter.

He alleged, “I was attacked during the Lok Sabha elections. If another attack happens, the responsibility will lie with the state government officials.”

Balyan also brought to the Chief Minister’s attention the alleged illegal encroachment of land belonging to a temple and a dharamshala in Khanupur village by Mansurpur Distillery. He stated, “The land of the temple and dharamshala in Khanupur village was illegally transferred with the collusion of previous government officials to Mansurpur Distillery. On January 1, in connivance with Muzaffarnagar police, the distillery occupied the land and filed false cases against the villagers.”

The BJP leader further noted that the Muzaffarnagar police might not have informed the Chief Minister about the matter. Highlighting his protest alongside villagers at the Mansurpur police station on 12 January, Balyan said he had repeatedly complained to senior police officers about the police’s involvement in property disputes, but no action had been taken so far.

Expressing his faith in the Chief Minister’s leadership, Balyan wrote, “Considering your life’s journey, I am confident that you will take just action regarding the land encroachment of the temple and dharamshala.”

Regarding his security, Balyan stated that while he was not concerned for his safety, the police’s behaviour towards a former Union Minister raised concerns about the plight of ordinary BJP workers.ALSO READ | Lucknow Advocate Hires Hitmen To Kill Lover's Father, They Shoot The Wrong Person
