Travelling By Expressways In UP To Be Costlier From April 1, Toll On Multiple Highways To Be Increased

Meerut Expressway Toll Tax: India's National Highway Authority has announced toll tax hikes on the Meerut Expressway. New rates begin March 31.

Delhi-Meerut Expressway Toll Tax: Travelling on expressways in UP is about to get more expensive. You will now have to loosen your purse strings further. From midnight of March 31 (April 1 effective), toll rates on multiple expressways will be raised. The hike will affect the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and National Highway 9. The toll tax for small cars and SUVs will increase by Rs 5 and for buses and trucks by Rs 20, reported ABP News.

The National Highways Authority of India has issued a notification regarding the toll tax increase. The new rates will come into effect from midnight on March 31. According to this notification, the toll rates have been increased the most for goods vehicles with more than seven axles. Cars and other vehicles will also have to pay the increased prices from the specified date.

Travelling On Expressways In UP To Become More Expensive

On National Highway-9, at the Chhajarsi toll plaza, the toll for cars, jeeps, and four-wheeled vehicles has been increased by Rs 5. On the Meerut Expressway, up to Sarai Kale Khan, the one-way toll tax for cars and jeeps was previously Rs 165, which has now been increased to Rs 170.

Similarly, the toll from Meerut to Ghaziabad will increase to Rs 75. Previously, four-wheeled vehicles had to pay Rs 70 for travelling this distance.

Similarly, toll tax rates have been increased for other vehicles. Commercial four-wheelers, which previously pad Rs 265, will now pay Rs 275. The toll tax for six-wheeled vehicles (buses and trucks) will increase from Rs 560 to Rs 580. The toll tax for 10-wheeled trucks will increase from Rs 610 to Rs 630.

Trucks with 12 wheels will have to pay Rs 905 instead of the previous Rs 875. Trolleys will have to pay Rs 1,105 instead of the previous Rs 1,065.
