Navi Mumbai Woman Throws Daughter From 29th Floor, Jumps After Her To Death
Maithili Dua, a 37-year-old woman, allegedly pushed her 8-year-old daughter Maira from their 29th-floor apartment in Navi Mumbai's Panvel before jumping herself to death.

A 37-year-old woman allegedly pushed her eight-year-old daughter from their 29th-floor apartment to death in Navi Mumbai's Panvel before jumping herself to death.
Both the mother and daughter landed in the open space on the ground floor and were declared dead upon arrival when rushed to hospital, the police said, reported The Times of India.
The deceased woman, identified as Maithili Dua has been posthumously booked by Panvel City police for the murder of her minor daughter, Maira. The FIR was lodged based on the complaint by the woman's husband Aashish Dua (41), a contractor, said Senior Inspector Nitin Thakare of Panvel City Police Station.

Maithili Suffered From Psychological Issues
In the complaint, Aashish claimed that his wife has been suffering from psychological issues and was undergoing treatment, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Panvel Division, Ahok Rajput.
The police are, however, yet to receive the medical records to verify the claim.
The ACP said the entire day was spent on post-mortem procedures and the family was occupied with final rites, "we have not yet received statements from the deceased woman's family."
He further said that the police will also investigate the case from domestic dispute angle between the husband and wife.

Daughter Pleaded To Let Her Out
Aashish stated in his complaint that it was approximately 8:30 am on Wednesday when Maithili locked herself in the bedroom with Maira in their apartment in the Marathon Nexzone residential tower near Palaspe Phata in Panvel.
The complainant repeatedly pleaded with his wife to open the door but she refused. He further claimed that he heard his daughter crying and asking her mother to let her out.
Shortly later, the residents of the building found both mother and daughter dead on the ground floor. According to Aashish, Maithili first threw the daughter out of the bedroom window and jumped to her death after Maira.
Senior Inspector Thakare said that Aashish and Maithili had been married for 13 years. While Aashish was from North India, Maithili was a Maharashtrian and her maternal home is in Ahilya Nagar (formerly Ahmednagar). Before getting married, Maithili was a working professional but had left her job to become a homemaker.
