While rains provided relief from the heat for residents of Bengaluru, but they also resulted in waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas of the city.
Hailstorms were observed in areas like Hosakote in the Bengaluru Rural district, and they also temporarily interrupted the city's electricity supply in other parts of the city. Flight operations were also impacted by the rains as at least 19 aircrafts had to be rerouted to different locations because of the Bengaluru weather.
The traffic police said that severe congestion caused by extensive waterlogging at Hunsmaranahalli affected traffic heading to the International Airport. Later on, though, the waterlogging was removed, and traffic returned to normal.
