People in Williams' home village celebrated her safe return with fireworks, dancing, and aarti. Her cousin organized a 'Yagna' ceremony for her safe return to Earth.

NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry 'Butch' Wilmore finally returned to Earth after nine long months in space. Along with them were NASA's Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, who were part of the space agency's Crew-9.
The people in native village of Sunita Williams, Gujarat's Jhulasan, celebrated her safe return.
As per the visuals posted by news agency ANI people celebrated and bursted firecrackers in Jhulasan in Mehsana district after the successful splashdown of SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. With the beating of drums, people also danced and celebrated the moment.
