Fire Breaks Out At Timber Depot In Telangana's Rangareddy, No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out at a timber depot in Telangana's Rangareddy late last night on Friday (February 21). The flames were brought under control after half an hour as fire department personnel responded promptly after receiving the call and rushed to the spot. No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.
The fire broke out at the Manikanta timber depot at Karmangath under the Saroornagar police station limits. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

"We received a fire call around 11:07 pm, and three fire vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire in half an hour. The cause of the fire and loss of assets is yet to be known and is under investigation," Fire Official Srenaiah told news agency ANI.
The owner of the timber depot said that the fire might have erupted due to a short circuit.
"Today, we closed the shop at 8:00 pm after completing our daily work, which ends at 7:30 pm. However, due to a short circuit, a fire broke out. We have stock worth around Rs80-85 lakhs in the shop, but the extent of the damage has not been determined yet," the owner told ANI.
He further said that he was informed about the fire at around 9:00 PM, following which he tried to control the flames till the firefighting personnel arrived.
"Around 9:00 pm, I was informed about the fire through a phone call. We tried to control the flames using gas cylinders and managed to control some of them. Fortunately, fire officials responded promptly, and the fire is now completely," he added.
