The Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an international luxury car theft syndicate led by a mastermind operating from Dubai. The ARSC unit exposed the gang that was trafficking high-end stolen vehicles across India. So far, authorities have seized 15 luxury cars, fake licence plates, forged registration certificates, and duplicate remote keys. Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.

Key Arrest Unravels Network From Delhi To Nagaland

The case took a huge turn in August 2024, with the arrest of Taj Mohammad alias Taju, a key member involved in the delivery of stolen cars. His interrogation helped police trace the wider network, leading to the recovery of several luxury vehicles stolen from different states.

Police investigations revealed the gang was stealing vehicles from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and other regions, and transporting them to areas as far as West Bengal, Maharashtra, and the Northeast, including remote locations like Dimapur, Nagaland. Some of the stolen cars were dismantled and sold for spare parts on the black market.

High-Tech Tools And International Operations

The gang's tech expert, Imran Khan alias Guddu, specialised in hacking car Engine Control Modules (ECMs). Using advanced key-programming devices, GPS jammers, and blank keys, the gang could start cars without the original keys. These tools were supplied under the direction of the gang's mastermind, Amir Pasha, who managed the operations from Dubai.

Eight Suspects Arrested

So far, eight suspects have been arrested. The suspects have been identified as Taj Mohammad, Imran Khan, Kunal Jaiswal, Akbar, Mateen Khan, Nagendra Singh, Manish Arya, and Nadeem. Several of them have over 60 criminal cases registered against them.

High-End Cars Recovered

Delhi Police have recovered 15 vehicles, including high-end cars. Among the recovered cars are models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta, Maruti Brezza, and Swift. All were stolen from various police jurisdictions across the city.

The Crime Branch is continuing its probe. A Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against Amir Pasha, and extradition proceedings have been initiated to bring him from Dubai.
