Dehradun: Major Accident Near Famous Maggi Point Leaves 2 Tourists From Noida Dead, 4 Seriously Injured
Dehradun News: A fatal road accident near Mussoorie Road's Maggi Point claimed two lives and injured four others. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Dehradun Road Accident: A serious road accident took place near the famous Maggi Point on Mussoorie Road Friday morning in which two persons lost their lives. A vehicle carrying tourists from Noida to Mussoorie went out of control and fell into a ditch, killing two of them died and leaving four others seriously injured, authorities said.
The accident took place around 9 am, when the driver suddenly lost control near Maggi Point and the vehicle rolled down the ditch immediately. After locals informed the police for help, officers came with a rescue team and relief work was started.
Inspector Arvind Kumar Chaudhary confirmed that two persons died in the accident, but the identities of the deceased have not been released yet. There were a total of six tourists in the vehicle. While two of them died, four others sustained serious injured and have been admitted to a local hospital. Their condition is said to be critical.
While investigations are on to find out what caused accident, the local administration has stressed on road safety and adherence to traffic rules. There are plans to tighten traffic safety measures.

Accident On Kedarnath Route Kills Couple
The incident comes two days after a couple visiting Uttarakhand as tourists died in an accident while travelling to Kedarnath. A car coming from the opposite side collided head-on with the motorcycle the couple were riding, PTI reported, quoting the local police.
The accident took place near Moolya village on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway in Tehri district, according to Additional Superintendent of Police JR Joshi.
The victims were identified as Pankaj (35) and Sangeeta (30), who were from Hapur in Uttar Pradesh. The died on the spot, ASP Joshi said.
The police said the driver of the car fled the scene after the accident, and that efforts are on to nab him.
The victims' bodies have been sent to hospital for postmortem, and their relatives were informed.
