Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was impacted by the flight diversion as a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Srinagar carrying him was diverted to Jaipur on Saturday night.
In a post on X, Abdullah said the flight was in the air for three hours after leaving Jammu and then it got diverted to Jaipur. He also shared a picture of himself taking "some fresh air" at the Jaipur airport.
"Delhi airport is a bloody shit show (excuse my French but I’m in no mood to be polite). 3 hours in the air after we left Jammu we get diverted to Jaipur & so here I am at 1 in the morning on the steps of the plane getting some fresh air. I’ve no idea what time we will leave from here," he said. Abdullah's flight finally reached Delhi after 3 am.
Earlier in the day, Indigo, in an advisory, informed the passengers about unfavourable weather in Srinagar impacting flights. "We're here to keep you informed! Stay updated on your flight status or explore flexible options should there be a need to adjust your travel plans," it said in a post on X.
Flights to land from Kolkata and Delhi, and those scheduled to take off were cancelled.
