Tesla CEO Elon Musk Takes A Dig At Jeff Bezos; Calls Amazon Founder 'Copycat' Over Zoox Acquisition

This is not the first time when Musk has mocked Bezos. Earlier this month, Tesla CEO lashed out at Bezos saying that it was time to break the e-commerce giant.

New Delhi: A day after news broke out of Amazon acquiring self-driving car startup Zoox, Tesla CEO Elon Musk accused Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos of being a copycat. ALSO READ | Gold Prices Slip To Rs 47,930/10 Grams, Silver Rates Decline Marginally To Rs 48,075/ Kg Taking to his official Twitter handle, Musk took a dig at Amazon founder Bezos on a lighter note and said, "@JeffBezos is a copy[cat] haha." He posted his tweet late on Friday with a link to an article about Bezos set to spend over $1 billion to purchase Zoox. Last month, the Wall Street Journal in one of its report had claimed that Zoox and Amazon were in advanced talks. It mentioned that the deal could be of immense significance to the e-commerce giant which has been experimenting with new technologies to make its delivery services faster and more efficient. According to the company bio, Zoox "is applying the latest in automotive, robotics and renewable energy to design a symmetrical, bidirectional, zero-emissions vehicle from the ground up to solve the unique challenges of autonomous mobility." This is not the first time when Musk has mocked Bezos. Earlier this month, Tesla CEO lashed out at Bezos saying that it was time to break the e-commerce giant. Reacting on the opportunity, Musk had tweeted saying, "This is insane @JeffBezos. Time to break up Amazon. Monopolies are wrong!" He even tagged Amazon CEO in his post however, Bezos has never replied to Musk on tweets against him. (With inputs from IANS news agency)
