Petrol, Diesel Prices Update: Fuel Rates Up For 3rd Day Straight — Check Out Latest Prices

Petrol has breached the Rs100-a-litre mark in all major cities, diesel prices has crossed the psychological mark in several places while inching closer to the mark in cities from Srinagar to Chennai

New Delhi: Fuel prices witnessed a price hike for the third straight day on Friday with diesel prices breaching Rs 100 per litre mark in various parts of the country. Fuel prices were hiked by 35 paise for the third day straight. 

The national capital saw petrol rising to its highest-ever level of Rs 106.89 a litre and Rs 112.78 per litre in Mumbai, as per the price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.

While diesel prices in Mumbai touched Rs103.63 a litre, it is being sold at Rs 95.62 per litre in Delhi.

In Kolkata, the petrol is costing Rs 107.44 per litre and diesel is being sold at Rs. 98.73 per litre. Petrol is costing Rs. 103.92 per litre in Chennai while diesel is touching Rs. 99.92 per-litre mark.

In Bengaluru, petrol is available at Rs110.61 per litre and diesel at  Rs 101.49 and in Hyderabad, one litre of petrol is now available at  Rs111.18 and diesel cost  Rs 104.32 for one litre of diesel.

Petrol has already breached the Rs 100-a-litre mark or more in all major cities, diesel prices have crossed the psychological 100 rupees mark at several places and inching closer towards that in many regions.

The costliest fuel was in the border town of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, where petrol comes for Rs 119.05 a litre and diesel for Rs109.88 per litre.

It is the 18th increase in petrol price and the 21st time that diesel rates have been increased since the three-week-long hiatus ended in rate revision in the last week of September.

International benchmark Brent crude on Thursday was trading above $85 per barrel, $11 more than last month. The surge in international oil prices ended a three-week hiatus in rate revision on September 28 for petrol and September 24 for diesel.
