UIDAI has made it free for residents to update documents only on myAadhaar portal for the next three months
In a move to support people with updating Aadhaar documents, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to make it free for residents to update documents in their Aadhaar online. However, the free service is available only for the next three months, i.e., March 15 to June 14, 2023. The move is aimed to citizens to help citizens who need to revalidate their demographic information, particularly if Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago.

Also, note that this service is free only on myAadhaar portal and will continue to attract a fee of Rs 50 at physical Aadhaar centres, as in the case earlier.
Revalidate Aadhaar issued 10 years ago
The UIDAI has been urging citizens to upload Proof of Identification and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic information, particularly if Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago and was never updated.
The revalidation is aimed to improve services, and also ensure that the success rate of authentication increases.
