Doorstep Banking Services: Here’s What SBI, HDFC Bank, PNB Charge Customers

Under this facility, you can avail 10 non-financial services, including picking up of cheque, request for new chequebook , delivery of account statement, pick up of Form 15G or 15H

New Delhi: With the pandemic situation still persisting and a new variant raging across the world, people are trying to remain indoors as much possible to avoid infections. In such a situation, doorstep banking (DSB) facility comes to the rescue. DSB is an initiative by the public sector bank alliance which offers primary banking services at your doorstep.

In order to ensure that smooth and secure services, banks are allowing their customers especially senior citizens to apply for doorstep banking services. One can avail the facilities for any of the 12 listed public sector banks only if the account is linked with your phone number.

Under this facility, you can avail 10 non-financial services, including picking up of cheque, request for new chequebook, delivery of account statement, pick up of Form 15G or 15H. One can submit digital life certificates through doorstep banking.

Here Are Bank Charges For Availing DSB services

State Bank of India

SBI customers can ask for doorstep banking service at their home branch. In case of non-financial transactions, SBI charges Rs 60 plus GST each visit, whereas financial transactions cost Rs 100 plus GST. It’s to be noted that the amount of cash withdrawal and deposit for each transaction is limited to Rs 20,000 per day.

Punjab National Bank

Senior citizens who are more than 70 including those who are differently-abled can to use the DBS services of the Punjab National Bank.  The bank offers a doorstep banking facility to people within a five-kilometre radius of a bank through its branches. The bank charges Rs 100 non-financial plus GST* and for financial transactions, it is Rs100 plus GST.

HDFC Bank

Going by the the HDFC Bank website, the maximum cash delivery limit per withdrawal comes to Rs 25,000, and the minimum amount will be Rs 5,000 for HDFC Bank customers. For cash pick-up and delivery, HDFC bank charges Rs 200 plus taxes. The bank charges Rs 100 + taxes per visit to pick any instrument. Cash delivery service will be provided against the self drawn cheque.
