DDA 2019 Housing Scheme: Big Relief To Apartment Buyers, Payment Date Extended Till Sep 30

Giving a big relief to apartment buyers, the DDA has extended the last date of payment till September 30. However, some conditions would apply on this.

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the last date of payment, providing relief to apartment buyers. According to the updated information, the deadline has been extended to September 30 with some conditions.

The last date for depositing the required amount for the allottees under DDA's 'Aawas Yojna 2019' has been extended from November 11, 2020 to December 31. Also, it has been extended till 30 September with 10 percent interest. The DDA has shared the information on Twitter this Tuesday.

The housing scheme was launched in March 2019 and around 18,000 apartments were put up for sale in Vasant Kunj and Narela. Later this number was reduced to 10,000 as the DDA was not attracting the expected amount of buyers.

The apartment buyers were classified in categories like Low Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and High Income Group (HIG). This scheme also included apartments for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Though the agency received 45,000 applications, it was only able to sell 8,438 apartments. At the same time, in January this year, the DDA launched another housing scheme for the sale of over 1,300 apartments. It is being told that most were of HIG and MIG categories. These apartments are located in Dwarka, Vasant Kunj and Jasola.
