Narayana Murthy’s 17-Month-Old Grandson Ekagrah To Get Rs 3.3 Crore Dividend; Details Inside

Ekagrah holds 15 lakh shares in Infosys, equivalent to a 0.04 per cent stake in the company. These shares were gifted to him by Narayana Murthy when he was just four months old

Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the 17-month-old grandson of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, is set to receive Rs 3.3 crore as part of Infosys’ final dividend for the financial year ending March 2025, making him one of India’s youngest millionaires, according to a Moneycontrol report.

Born in November 2023 in Bengaluru, Ekagrah is the son of Rohan Murty and Aparna Krishnan. He is the third grandchild of Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty. His cousins, Krishna and Anoushka, are daughters of Akshata Murty and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Ekagrah holds 15 lakh shares in Infosys, equivalent to a 0.04 per cent stake in the company. These shares were gifted to him by Narayana Murthy when he was just four months old. At the time of the gift in March 2024, the stake was valued at over Rs 240 crore.

On April 17, Infosys declared a final dividend of Rs 22 per share. Based on his shareholding, Ekagrah stands to earn Rs 3.3 crore from this payout. This adds to the Rs 7.35 crore he received in interim dividends earlier this year, bringing his total dividend income for FY25 to Rs 10.65 crore.

According to Infosys’ exchange filing, the record date for dividend eligibility is May 30, with payments scheduled for June 30.

Murthy Family To Receive Significant Payouts

Other members of the Murthy family—part of Infosys’ promoter group—are also set to receive substantial earnings from the company’s final dividend. Narayana Murthy himself is expected to take home Rs 33.3 crore, while his wife, Sudha Murty, will receive Rs 76 crore. Their daughter, Akshata Murty, who holds 3.89 lakh shares (representing a 1.04 per cent stake in the company), is slated to earn Rs 85.71 crore.

Infosys, which began its journey in 1981 with a humble investment of Rs 10,000, has since evolved into one of India’s most prominent IT services firms. Sudha Murty, who initially supported the company’s founding with her personal savings, went on to chair the Infosys Foundation for more than 25 years. After stepping down in December 2021, she remains deeply involved in philanthropic initiatives and was recently appointed to the Rajya Sabha.
