Narayana and Sudha Murthy have clinched fifth place on Bengaluru’s wealthiest families list. According to the latest Hurun India Rich List 2024, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy boasts a net worth of Rs 36,600 crores, making him the fifth-richest individual in Bengaluru and the 69th richest in India.

However, Narayana Murthy’s substantial fortune is surpassed by another Infosys co-founder, Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, whose net worth is estimated at Rs 38,500 crore.

Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan is a prominent figure in the world of technology and entrepreneurship. He is best known as one of the co-founders of Infosys. He played a crucial role in the company's growth, serving as its CEO and Managing Director from 2007 to 2011 and Vice Chairman from 2011 to 2014.

At 69, Gopalakrishnan is now the Chairman of Axilor Ventures, a startup accelerator that supports innovative companies such as GoodHome, Kaagaz, and EnKash. His academic background includes master’s degrees in physics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.

In 2011, Gopalakrishnan was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, for his contributions.

He is married to Sudha Gopalakrishnan, and together, they established the Pratiksha Trust, which focuses on advancing brain research. In addition to his business ventures, Gopalakrishnan contributes to academia by serving on the Board of Governors for the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIIT Bangalore and sits on the Board of Trustees at the Chennai Mathematical Institute, according to the Infosys website.

Infosys History

Infosys was established in 1981 by seven engineers who began their journey in a modest one-bedroom apartment. Initially based in Pune, the company later relocated to Bangalore. The founding team of Infosys includes Narayana Murthy, Nandan Nilekani, Kris Gopalakrishnan, S.D. Shibulal, K. Dinesh, and N.S. Raghavan.
