This Indian Carrier Is On The Worst Airlines List As Global Rankings Are Unveiled

The airline rankings are based on a comprehensive methodology that includes customer claims processed globally, external data on on-time arrivals and departures for each flight, and feedback

AirHelp released its AirHelp Score Report 2024 on Tuesday, ranking the global airline industry once again. The rankings, which consider factors such as on-time performance, customer complaints about disruptions, and passenger ratings on food, comfort, and service, offer a snapshot of the ups and downs in air travel this year.

The airline rankings are based on a comprehensive methodology that includes customer claims processed globally, external data on on-time arrivals and departures for each flight, and feedback from passengers in over 54 countries regarding food quality, comfort, and crew service on their most recent journey.

AirHelp CEO Tomasz Pawliszyn explains that the goal is to provide a snapshot of airline performance, hoping that the analysis will "encourage airlines to pay attention to passenger feedback consistently." The data analysed for this report covers the period from January to October, according to a Bloomberg report.

Among Indian airlines, IndiGo, the nation's largest carrier by market share, received a disappointing rank of 103rd. This low placement is mainly due to its lacklustre performance in customer satisfaction and flight disruption claims.

Tunisair earned the unenviable distinction of being the world’s worst airline, ranking last at No. 109. Several budget and national carriers are also in the bottom 10.

The overall best airline in the world for 2024 is Brussels Airlines, a subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, which has surpassed Qatar Airways to claim the top spot. This marks a significant leap for the Belgian carrier, which was ranked No. 12 just last year, while Qatar Airways dropped to No. 2 after holding the top position since 2018.
