India Energy Week 2025: Hardeep Singh Puri Meets Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard On Day 2

India Energy Week 2025: India Energy Week has entered its second day on Wednesday, 12 February. The event is organised from 11 February to 14 February and will see eminent personalities from around the world on the stage during these four days. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India attended the second day as well of the India Energy Week 2025.

Puri met Magda Chambriard, CEO of Brazilian energy major, Petrobras at the event in Delhi. Giving an update on his meeting, Puri wrote in a post on X (Formerly Twitter), “Happy to meet Ms Magda Chambriard, CEO of Brazilian energy major @petrobras at #IndiaEnergyWeek2025 in New Delhi.”

Green Energy Transition

“We discussed India’s unprecedented momentum towards Green Energy Transition, initiatives to enhance domestic production and investment opportunities in our E&P sector through several transformational policy reforms and how Indian companies are keen to collaborate with Petrobras in India & around the world, especially in offshore deep/ ultra-deep-water projects,” he added. 

Puri highlighted that they had an intriguing discussion on the development of sustainable alternative fuels, public policies, infrastructure and more. “I recalled my deep personal association with Brazil and admiration towards the success of their biofuel story. We also had an interesting discussion on the development of sustainable alternative fuels, public policies, infrastructure and introduction of sustainable feedstock alternatives as it shall help in achieving Net Zero Target of India and Brazil's economies.” he wrote.

Oil & Gas Sector

Puri was also there for the inaugural session of India Energy Week. During his said Puri said that oil and gas will remain essential in the energy sector, even as renewables become the dominant global energy source.

“Even when renewables become the dominant energy sources, oil and gas will continue to play a pivotal role - not just in power generation but in stabilising grids, industrial hydrogen, and energy storage innovations," he added.

About India Energy Week

The India Energy Week, taking place from February 11 to 14 in Delhi is expected to draw over 70,000 delegates, 700 exhibitors, and 500 speakers from around the world, solidifying its position as one of the largest and most influential energy events globally.
