Delhi To Host First-Ever Global Investment Summit, Announces CM Rekha Gupta In Maiden Budget Speech
Delhi's first BJP Budget in 27 years, presented by CM Gupta, has an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore, focusing on electricity, roads, water, connectivity, and industrial development.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday presented the first Budget of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in 27 years for the fiscal year 2025-26 with a total outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore.
Terming it a "historic Budget," Gupta enlisted 10 focus areas including electricity, roads, water, and connectivity.
In her maiden speech, Gupta who also hold the finance portfolio said, "This is not an ordinary Budget, this Budget is the first step to develop Delhi which was ruined in the past 10 years. Delhi went down in every aspect of development in the past decade. The previous government ruined the economic health of the national capital like termites."
Industrial Development And Investment Promotion
CM Gupta listed industrial development and investment promotion as one of the ten focus areas of the Budget 2025-26, saying that the government aims to make Delhi an investment- and innovation-friendly city.
Under this, she announced a Traders' Welfare Board and a new industrial policy and a new warehouse policy. She also announced that the national capital will host its first-ever Global Investment Summit, which will be held every two years.
An allocation of Rs 50 crore has been earmarked to support small-scale industries for skill development programs, including bee-keeping.

Other Focus Areas
Cleaning and rejuvenation of the Yamuna River, inspired by the Sabarmati river front project is one of the major focus areas of the Budget. The government has allocated Rs 500 crore for cleaning of Yamuna river ensuring that only treated water enters the river through the decentralization of 40 sewage treatment plants (STPs).
The health sector has been allotted Rs 6,874 crore with a focus on establishing health and wellness centres and expanding the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative.
The FY 2026 Budget has allocated Rs 100 crore to launch CM SHRI Schools, inspired by PM SHRI Schools and aligned with the New Education Policy.
