'World's Eyes On India': PM Modi Ahead Of Budget, Calls President Murmu's 1st Address An Honour To Tribals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the media ahead of the Budget session and said that the government's focus is always on 'India First and Citizens First'.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the media before the beginning of the Budget session. He said that the President's first address to the joint session of Parliament is a matter of pride for our Constitution, and especially for respect of women.

"The whole world has its eyes on India," the PM said.

PM Modi said, "It has been seen in the traditions that have developed in our parliamentary work, that when a new MP stands up to speak for the first time, irrespective of the party, the whole House honors him. His confidence increases. This is a bright and noble tradition."

"Today the President will address the Parliament for the first time. It is the responsibility of all of us that today's moment should be full of enthusiasm and energy on the part of all the MPs," he added.

PM Modi said that the focus of the government has always been 'India First, Citizens First'.

He said that at the beginning of the session itself, credible voices from the world of economy, have brought in a positive message, a ray of hope and a beginning of enthusiasm.

"Budget Session begins today and at the beginning itself, credible voices from the world of economy, have brought in a positive message, a ray of hope and a beginning of enthusiasm. Today is important, President will address the joint session of the Parliament for the first time," the PM said quoted ANI.

He said, "Amid the unstable global economic situation, India's budget will attempt to meet the hopes and aspirations of the common citizens, the ray of hope being seen by the world glows brighter-for this, I firmly believe that Nirmala Sitharaman will make all efforts to meet those aspirations."

 

Lauding the women's power, the Prime Minister said, "Our Finance Minister is a woman too. She will present one more budget before the country tomorrow. In today's global circumstances, not only India but the entire world is looking at India's budget."
