'We Must Unite And...' After 'Brahmin Genes' Tweet, CEO Shares Post Against Reservation

Anuradha Tiwari, in an X post, shared a newspaper picture capturing the news of a Brahmin girl who ended her life because her father could not afford her studies in the science stream

Brahmin genes: The controversial Bengaluru-based CEO Anuradha Tiwari, aka 'Brahmin genes', has yet again voiced her opinion about how reservation given to some communities and none to others in the country has left people struggling to have basic necessities in their lives, like a good education. She suggests that the general category must unite and fight against the reservation.

Tiwari, in an X (Formerly Twitter) post, shared a newspaper picture capturing the news of a Brahmin girl who ended her life because her father could not afford her studies in the science stream.

In the caption, the CEO wrote, “A Brahmin girl commits suicide because her father couldn't afford her education. Budget allocation for Reserved categories is around 2.8 lakh crores. Lakhs of crores for them while poor Brahmins and GCs are left to die. This is why we must unite and fight back!”

Tiwari’s post generated significant online noise, generating diverse reactions from internet users. “The issue with GC leaders is that they are unable to oppose government schemes that marginalise the GC community. They fail to speak out against the injustices faced by their community and hesitate to take a stand in its favour when it is subjected to continuous abuse and derogatory remarks, particularly towards GC women. In contrast, leaders of other communities consistently advocate for the rights of their respective communities,” wrote one of the X users.

Another user shared a different perspective: "I feel bad for the girl but she was unaware. She should have studied science in govt school like most of the people do. She should have applied for the scholarship under state govt, they provide. Instead of blaming everything to SC STs, aware your community people about EWS. But you don't want any solution, that's 100 per cent true. All want to do is keep blaming reservation and earn from it. You are insensitive towards your own community.”

A third user wrote, “This tragedy highlights the flaws of caste-based reservation. It’s a classic example of why we need reservations based on financial capability, not caste. General Category (GC) students are burdened with the highest level of competition and must outperform others to secure a desired seat. Despite our hard work, those benefiting from caste-based reservations often snatch our opportunities and proudly flaunt their success, which comes at the cost of many shattered dreams. We have no one to back us—no politician, no social group. No one seems to care about the struggles of poor GCs, who are forced to sacrifice so much to ensure others' success. Despite all we endure, we still face daily discrimination and derogatory remarks.”

Previously, Tiwari was in the headlines because of her social media post in which she was seen flexing muscles in a photo. In the caption, she wrote, “Brahim genes,” steering a discussion online.
