Are Banks Open Tomorrow?
On Thursday, banks in certain regions will be closed on the occasion of Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Saptami). Customers will not be able to visit the physical branches of banks in Agartala, Guwahati, Kohima, and Kolkata on October 10, 2024.
Further, banks will also remain closed on Friday, October 11, 2024, to celebrate the festival of Dusshera (Mahashtami/Mahanavami) /Ayudha Pooja/Durga Puja (Dasain)/Durga Ashtami. Banks in Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, and Shillong observe this holiday.
October 12, Saturday is Dusshera, along with the Second Saturday. Therefore, banks all over India will remain closed for business. Therefore, bank employees in Agartala, Guwahati, Kohima, and Kolkata will be able to enjoy a 4 day long weekend holiday starting from Thursday.
Therefore, customers are advised to keep a tab of these holidays on the official website of the central bank. Individuals should schedule their bank errands accordingly. However, digital banking services and mobile banking will still remain accessible for the public. These holidays only mean that physical branches of the banks will be closed for business. Any changes in other facilities like UPI, internet banking, etc will be observed well in advance to the customers.
