UP Teenager Secures Job Offer From Anand Mahindra For Foiling Monkey Attack Using Alexa

A 13-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh received a job offer from Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, for averting a monkey attack. Hailing from Basti district in the state, Nikita achieved popularity overnight after she managed to foil a monkey attack and save her younger sister and herself using her presence of mind. 

In a post shared by ANI on social media platform X, (formerly known as Twitter), on Saturday, Nikita explained, “A few guests visited our home and they left the gate open. Monkeys entered the kitchen and started throwing things here and there.”

Nikita managed to save herself and her sister by asking Alexa to play the sound of a barking dog. The sound did the trick and scared the monkeys into running away.

Anand Mahindra lauded the girl’s bravery and called her ‘quick thinking as extraordinary’ in a post on X. He said, “What she demonstrated was the potential for leadership in an entirely unpredictable world.”

Impressed by her ingenious solution, the billionaire promised the young girl a job at his company. He said, “After she finishes her education, If she ever decides to work in the corporate world I hope we at @MahindraRise will be able to convince her to join us!!”

Mahindra in his post further said that this incident provides comfort that ‘technology will always be an enabler of human ingenuity’. 

The incident took place in Pankaj Ojha’s home in Basti’s Awas Vikas Colony. At the time of the attack from the monkeys, Ojha’s daughter Nikita was alone with her 15-month-old niece, while the other family members were in different rooms.
