'Always Seen Tata Motors As...': Anand Mahindra On Market Competition

Anand Mahindra's post followed the announcement that his company achieved sales of 51,062 units in September of this year. In contrast, Tata Motors recorded sales of 42,031 units

Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, recently expressed his admiration for Tata Motors, referring to it as his “respected elder brother” in a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the post, he re-shared a post that states that Mahindra Automotive has successfully claimed the third position among the top-selling car brands in India, beating Tata Motors.

The billionaire chairman also added that Tata Motors has consistently inspired them to enhance their brand and improve the quality of their vehicles. “The only race worth winning is the one you race against yourself, Against your OWN aspirations. We have always seen Tata Motors as a respected elder brother that spurs us to keep improving ourselves. And we hope that we, too, motivate them to reach new heights. The journey will always have twists and turns, but we continue to travel together,” the chairman wrote in his post.

Anand Mahindra's post followed the announcement that his company achieved sales of 51,062 units in September of this year. In contrast, Tata Motors recorded sales of 42,031 units, reflecting a notable decline from September of the previous year when it sold 44,809 units.

Netizens lauded Mahindra's gesture filling comment box with appreciation. One of the X users commented, “That’s healthy !! We look for the day when Mahindra and Tata compete on Quality, technology and services just like icons of world Mercedes and BMW compete and shake hands !!”

“A powerful perspective! Focusing on personal growth and self-improvement is often more fulfilling than comparing ourselves to others. Striving to meet our own aspirations can lead to a deeper sense of accomplishment and happiness,” another user added.

A third user wrote, “Beautifully said, @anandmahindra! Healthy competition is what drives innovation and growth. It's inspiring to see two of India's automotive giants pushing each other to new heights, all while prioritizing progress and collaboration. Here’s to more milestones on this shared journey!”
