Who Is Amitesh Jha? The New CEO Of Swiggy Instamart

Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy's Group CEO, expressed excitement about Jha’s appointment, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Amitesh Jha as the new CEO of Swiggy Instamart.

Swiggy, the food and quick commerce platform announced on Thursday that Amitesh Jha will be the new CEO of its quick commerce division, Swiggy Instamart, starting September 4. Jha, a veteran in e-commerce with over 20 years of experience, will take over from Phani Kishan, who is moving to a broader role within the company.

Who Is Amitesh Jha?

Amitesh Jha will join Swiggy from Flipkart, where he spent 14 years driving the company's growth. His expertise covers critical areas such as smartphones, general merchandise, fashion, large appliances, and logistics management. At Flipkart, Jha was instrumental in cementing the company's leadership in the Indian e-commerce market, spearheading innovations and setting new industry benchmarks.

His extensive experience and track record at Flipkart make him an ideal leader to drive our vision of transforming the consumer shopping experience in India. In his new role, Jha will concentrate on boosting Swiggy Instamart’s market presence and driving innovation. He remarked, “I believe the consumer internet industry in India is on the cusp of significant transformation. Swiggy’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric approach positions it uniquely to lead this change. I am excited to contribute to this groundbreaking journey and to be part of Swiggy’s continued success.”

Phani Kishan, the outgoing CEO of Swiggy Instamart, will transition to a new role overseeing Swiggy’s Central Growth unit. In this position, he will collaborate closely with Group CEO Sriharsha Majety and work towards steering the company’s growth strategy across its various business segments.

Established in 2014, Swiggy offers food delivery, groceries, and other essentials through Swiggy Instamart, which operates in more than 35 cities across India. New additions include Swiggy Dineout and Swiggy Genie, all backed by its membership program, Swiggy One.
