After Petrol-Diesel Price Hike, Indraprastha Gas Raises PNG, CNG Rates. Check Latest Rates

New Delhi: After hike in petrol and diesel prices, there is another blow for common man as Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) on Thursday raised the price of domestic piped natural gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gurugram and several other regions.

IGL has raised the price of PNG in the national capital by Rs 1 to 36.61 per unit (measured in standard cubic metres or scm).

The new price will come into effect from Thursday (March 24), according to report by news agency ANI.

The hike in PNG price means cooking fuel will get expensive for the nearly 1.68 million domestic households that use IGL’s PNG across the country.

In Gautam Budh Nagar, the IGL customers will have to shell out Rs 35.86/SCM after the price hike. In Ghaziabad too, the domestic PNG price has been increased by the same amount. IGL users in Gautam Budh Nagar would have to pay Rs 35.86/SCM as well.

IGL also raised the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi by Rs 1 per kg taking the new price to Rs 59.01 per Kg which will come into effect from Thursday.

Meanwhile, the fuel prices remain unchanged on Thursday after two days of consecutive hikes.  Pterol and diesel were hiked on Wednesday by 80 paise a litre for the second time in a week.

Petrol price in Delhi on Thursday remains at Rs97.01 per litre while diesel rates have gone up to Rs88.27 per litre, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.

The cost of petrol in Mumbai is Rs111.67 per litre, and the price of diesel is Rs95.85 per litre. In Kolkata, customers have to pay Rs106.34 for petrol and Rs91.42 diesel while the petrol price in Chennai stands at Rs102.91 and diesel at Rs92.95 respectively.
