Adani Group Announces Investments In MP; To Set Up 2 Projects With Rs 3,500 Cr Investment

Gwalior Regional Industry Conclave: Karan Adani noted the significance of the Adani defence facility in Gwalior, which is the largest small arms manufacturing plant in the country

Gwalior Regional Industry Conclave: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has unveiled plans to invest Rs 3,500 crore in Madhya Pradesh, setting up a 2 million tonne per annum (MTPA) cement grinding unit in Guna and a propellant production facility in Shivpuri. The announcement was made by APSEZ Managing Director Karan Adani during the Gwalior Regional Industry Conclave on Wednesday.

Karan Adani highlighted the strategic importance of the propellant production unit in Shivpuri, aligning with India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, which aims to transform the nation from a defence importer to an exporter. He highlighted that these two projects would collectively create over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs in the region.

Reflecting on the Adani Group's investments in Madhya Pradesh, Adani mentioned that the company has already invested Rs 18,250 crore, generating 12,000 jobs. "Gwalior is rapidly emerging as a key transportation and trade hub, and with its growing tourism industry and talented workforce, it is becoming one of India's new economic centers," Adani said.

He also noted the significance of the Adani defence facility in Gwalior, which is the largest small arms manufacturing plant in the country. This facility has positioned Madhya Pradesh as a global hub for small arms production.

In addition to the industrial investments, Karan Adani announced that the Adani Foundation will establish a jacket production center in Badarwas, which will be operated entirely by women as part of the foundation's women empowerment initiatives. The foundation's efforts in the state have already impacted 80,000 households and touched 300,000 lives through healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods, and women empowerment programs.

Karan Adani also praised Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for his leadership in driving the state's economic growth, making it an example for others to follow.

These new developments by the Adani Group are set to further bolster Madhya Pradesh's industrial landscape, providing significant economic benefits and job opportunities in the region.
