Maruti Suzuki Fronx Launched In India: Newest Maruti With Turbo Petrol Engine — Check Prices

The Fronx is a coupe SUV based on the Baleno and was first unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. After the Baleno RS, the Fronx is the newest Maruti to get turbo petrol.

The Fronx marks the return of a turbo petrol engine to the line-up in the form of the Boosterjet which starts from Rs 9.72 lakh.

Maruti has launched the Fronx in India and prices start from Rs 7.46 lakh. The Fronx is a coupe SUV based on the Baleno and was first unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. The styling has a distinct coupe-like roofline and the front end has styling like the Grand Vitara as well with the DRL signature lighting pattern. The Fronx also marks the return of a turbo petrol engine to the line-up in the form of the Boosterjet which starts from Rs 9.72 lakh. After the Baleno RS, the Fronx is the newest Maruti to get turbo petrol.

The 1.0l turbo petrol engine develops 100PS and 147Nm of torque while there is also a 1.2l petrol with 89PS and 113Nm. The gearbox options include a 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters for the turbo petrol while the 1.2 petrol gets an AMT gearbox. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard with both engines.

In terms of dimensions, the Fronx has a length of 3995mm while it has a width of 1765mm. It has a wheelbase of 2520mm too. The Fronx is based on the HEARTECT platform and in terms of safety gets  6 airbags** (driver, co-driver, side and curtain), 3-point ELR seatbelts, ESP with Hill Hold Assist and rollover mitigation, ABS with EBD and brake assist (BA), ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

If you talk about the interior, the Fronx gets a Black and Bordeaux contrasting colour scheme while the feature lost includes Head Up Display with turn-by-turn navigation, 360 view camera, wireless charger, 9-inch HD Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity plus an Arkamys audio system.

There is also Suzuki Connect app and connected car technology on offer. The Fronx will come with 6 single-tone colour options and 3 dual-tone ones. Like the Baleno, the Nexa showrooms will have the Fronx on sale.
