Maruti Jimny 5-Door Mild Hybrid Coming To India In 2023 — Know What To Expect From The Offroader

The Jimny has been previously shown in India at the Auto Expo but that was in the global spec and for India, the model would be changed to suit our tastes.

The Jimny has been a mystery that does not solve as for a long time we have been waiting to see the SUV on sale in India but now it seems the offroader will finally be on sale but in a different form. Overseas in select markets, the Jimny has been on sale with a 3-door form and a petrol engine along with the old 4-speed automatic/5-speed manual.

Now we will see the Jimny 5-door in India with a mild-hybrid engine which is also seen on other Maruti cars. The 5-door Jimny would have a longer wheelbase and a different design thanks to new front and rear doors. There would be more space on offer with the Jimny 5-door and it would make sense considering our market demands for a more spacious car.

The Jimny has been previously shown in India at the Auto Expo but that was in the global spec and for India, the model would be changed to suit our tastes. The Jimny 5-door that would come will have way more features than the standard Jimny sold abroad. Hence, expect a bigger touchscreen like on the new Brezza and premium features too like connected car tech. Like the Brezza it will get the latest mild hybrid 1.5l petrol in 5-speed manual form and a 6-speed automatic. The Jimny as always will come with a proper 4x4 system.

Being a 5-door the Jimny would be practical and also bigger in size while it will have the latest features to match compact SUVs too. The pricing would be premium and that's because of the 1.5l engine, 4x4, and other features but being a Nexa product it would be a premium SUV aimed at the lifestyle space.
