Mahindra will finally launch the Thar 5-door on the 15th of August this year as per tradition because the Thar 3-door and some of their most important cars were also launched on this day. The Thar 5-door remains one of the most anticipated launches of this year and also it has been in the talks for a long time.

Mahindra will have an action-packed 2024 but the 5-door Thar would be the talking point. The Thar in its 3-door form and the XUV700 were also launched during Independence Day. The Thar 5-door is a more practical avatar of the 3-door Thar while it will have a different design also to distinguish it further.

Thar 5-Door's Features

The Thar 5-door Armada in its full form as it could be called would be getting a more premium interior over the 3-door with more features. Hence, the 5-door Thar Armada could get features like 19-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, rear camera, 6 airbags plus two bigger screens including a fully digital instrument cluster. Of course, with the addition of an extra set of doors, there would be a much longer wheelbase plus more rear seat space at the back. It will be sitting on the same type of chassis as the Scorpio N too. Of course, the engine options would continue with the 2.0l turbo petrol and a 2.2l diesel with both 4x2 and 4x4.

The pricing is a very important factor but the Thar 5-door would be much more premium and that could reflect in the pricing. We can expect the Thar 5-door to be priced at around Rs 25/26 lakh for the top-end 4x4 versions while it could start where the Thar 3-door ends in terms of pricing.
