Kushaq, Taigun, Punch — Check Out List Of Safest Cars With 5-Star Global NCAP Crash Rating In India
In the latest round of tests, the Kushaq and Taigun have scored highly while making them the safest cars.
Safety has become a much more important criteria for the Indian car buyer and GNCAP ratings are a good showcase of how safe a car is while also improving safety. In the latest round of tests with new GNCAP standards which are more stringent, the Kushaq and Taigun have scored highly while making them the safest cars.
Volkswagen Taigun/Skoda Kushaq
Both the SUVs from Volkswagen and Skoda have scored a perfect 5 stars in both child occupant protection and adult occupant protection. These are the first cars being tested under the new GNCAP norms. Global NCAP’s updated crash test protocols look at frontal and side impact protection for all tested models, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection and side impact pole protection. Both SUVs have scored highly with 29.64/34 points for adult occupant protection and 42/49 points for child occupant protection.
Tata Punch
Within the previous standards of GNCAP testing, the Punch has scored a perfect 5 stars for adult occupant protection while child occupant protection dropped to 4 stars. It scored 16.45/17 for adult protection and 40.89/49 for child protection.
Mahindra XUV300
The XUV 300 scored a very impressive 16.42 out of 17 for adult occupant protection while in child occupant protection it scored 37.44 points out of 49. Which means it is five stars in adult protection and 4 in child protection.
Tata Altroz
The Altroz is the only hatchback to score so well in terms of safety with a 5-star adult occupant protection with a score of 16.3/17 while in child occupant protection it has scored 29/49 with 3 stars.
Tata Nexon
The Nexon started Tata's journey in terms of new design and safety with 5 stars in adult occupant protection with a score of 16.06/17. In terms of child occupant protection, it has scored 25/49 with 3 stars. It was also the first 5-star rated car.
